    Q. What exactly are the World Class Programmes?
    A. The World Class Programmes are programmes of training, preparation and competition funded by UK Sport and the Sport England Lottery Fund. The funding is available for the Olympic canoeing disciplines - Slalom and Flat Water Racing. If you are interested in other aspects of canoeing then please go to the main BCU web site at www.bcu.org.uk The programmes operate at 2 levels: World Class Performance - a UK-wide programme focused on Senior Olympic, World and European Championship level. It is funded by UK sport . To be included in the programme, athletes must meet certain criteria. See criteria for inclusion. World Class Development Programmes - this covers predominantly the age range of 14 - 22 and is funded by Sport England disciplines. It is notionally split into two areas: WC Start and WC Potential. The key goal of the programme is to compete for Junior and U23 medals in major championships and to nurture GB's Olympic Champions of the future. See criteria for inclusion if you would like to know the standards required to enter the programme
    Q. I am an athlete on the programme and not yet received my award. What do I do?
    A. This could be because you may have moved house and not passed your new address on to us. If this is the case then please email it to wendy.blackman@gbcanoeing.org.uk Otherwise please contact the World Class Office on 0115 9822094 ext. 3
