World Class Directorate

Performance Director – John Anderson – UK Sport Olympic Podium Programme (UK Sport OPP)
Manages and directs the implementation of all aspects of the BCU’s World Class Olympic Programmes. Responsible for all members of coaching and administrative staff within the World Class Directorate. Based in The Elms, Nottingham.

West Thames Academy Manager – Anne Ferguson Responsible for managing and directing the implementation of the BCU World Class  Olympic Development Programmes for Flat Water racing in the West Thames area and building the Bisham Performance Centre. Based at Bisham Abbey near Marlow.

Nottingham  Academy Manager – Andy Maddock  Responsible for managing and directing the implementation of the BCU World Class  Olympic Development Programmes for canoe slalom in the NOttingham area and building the Nottingham Performance Centre. Based at John Dudderidge House, NWSC

Nottingham Admin support, Personnel & Administration Manager – Wendy Blackman – Responsible for the effective management of the personnel aspects of the BCU lottery funded World Class Olympic Programmes and providing support to the Nottingham Academy Manager. Based at The Elms, Nottingham.

West Thames Academy - Admin Assistant - Dianne Ward. - Responsible for providing administration support to the West Thames Academy manager, coaches and athletes.

World Class  Olympic Programmes Accounts Manager – Carole Hanrahan - Joint  Responsible for ensuring the effective administration and management of the financial aspects of the BCU World Class  Olympic Programmes. Based at The Elms, Nottingham.

World Class Olympic Programmes Accounts Assistant - Helen Bowen
Provides support to the Accounts Manager in the day-to-day administration of the World Class Olympic Programmes finances

 

Canoe Slalom - Olympic Podium Programme staff

National Performance Manager – Canoe Slalom – John MacLeod
Manages Canoe Slalom’s Lottery funded World Class Olympic Podium Programme. Incorporating, budgetary and administration roles including team logistics. Based at John Dudderidge House, Nottingham.

National Performance Coach – Canoe Slalom – Juerg Goetz 
Responsible for the planning,  implementation and the technical aspects of the Canoe Slalom Olympic Podium Programme. 

 World Class Podium Programme - Kayak Specialist Coach - Shaun Pearce
Responsible for the implementation and delivery of technical aspects of the training and race programmes for Canoe Slalom World Class Olympic Podium Athletes. Based in Nottingham.

 World Class Podium  Programme - Canoe Specialist Coach – Mark Delaney
Delivers the technical performance programme to the lottery funded Canoe Slalom World Class Olympic Podium funded canoe classes. Based in Nottingham.

World Class Podium Programme - Mixed Class Coach - Richard Lee
Delivers the technical performance programme to the lottery funded Canoe Slalom World Class Olympic Podium funded athletes.

Slalom Sports Science Manager – Barney Wainwright -
Responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of Sport Science support to canoe slalom.

Slalom Team Physiotherapist – Julie Pearce
Responsible for leading and co-ordinating Physiotherapy support to World Class athletes.  Based in Nottingham, to act as Team Physiotherapist with the Canoe Slalom Senior Team

Canoe Slalom - Olympic Development Programmes Staff

Head Coach – Mark Ratcliffe
Co-ordinates coaches employed within the World Class Olympic Development Programme. Based in Nottingham.

Kayak Coach – Ian Raspin
Provides technical coaching support to the Canoe Slalom Lottery funded athletes supported by the Olympic Development Programmes. Based in Nottingham.

National Junior Coach- Canoe Slalom – Craig Morris
Provides technical coaching support to the Canoe Slalom Lottery funded athletes supported by the BCU World Class Olympic Development Programmes. Based in Nottingham

Canoe Coach -  Andrzej Wojs
Provides technical coaching support to the Canoe Slalom Lottery funded athletes supported by the BCU World Class Olympic Development Programmes.

Junior Development Coach - Neil Buckley
Provides co-ordination and technical coaching support to the junior development Canoe Slalom athletes.  Supported by the BCU World Class Olympic Development Programmes. Based in Nottingham


 Sprint Racing - Podium Programme Staff

National Performance Manager – Sprint Racing – Alan Williams
Manages Sprint Racing’s Lottery funded World Class Olympic Podium Programme. Incorporating, budgetary and administration roles, team logistics and Olympic Team Managers role. Based at home office, Esher.

Head Coach - Senior Men's kayak Squad - Shaun Caven.
Leads the coaching delivery to the senior mens kayak group in West Thames. Responsible for planning and co-ordinating technical elements.

Senior Men's Kayak  Coach –Steve Harris
Working closely with the Head coach, delivers the technical performance programme to the lottery funded Sprint Racing World Class Olympic Podium programme  kayak and Canoe classes. Based in Nottingham.


Head Coach - Senior Womens Kayak Squad - Brendan Purcell

Leads the coaching delivery to the senior womens kayak group. Responsible for planning and co-ordinating technical elements. Based in Nottingham

Senior Womens Kayak Coach - Trevor Hunter
Working closely with the Head Coach, delivers the technical coaching  to the lottery funded Sprint Racing Olyjmpic Podium and Development programme women's funded kayak athletes  in the West Thames area. 

Senior  Canoe Squad Coach - Steve Train
Leads the planning and technical delivery to the senior canoe programme
. Based in Nottingham area.

National Junior Coach - David Coulson
 Responsible for planning and co-ordinating technical elements of the junior programme. Leads the coaching delivery to members of the junior squad. Based in W Thames.

Junior  Coach - Sprint Racing - Claudine Le Roux
Provides technical support to juniors in the West Thames area and national sqaud.

Junior Coach - Sprint Racing - Peter Almasi
Provides full coaching support to  junior elite mens group based in the Teddington area.


Canoe Fast Track Coach - Alex Nikonorov
Based in Nottingham, provides coaching support to 2012 Fast Track canoe athletes

Womens Kayak Fast Track Coach - Mark Hoile
Based in Nottingham, provides coaching support to 2012 Fast Track womens' kayak athletes
Sports Science Officer – Currently Vacant -
Responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of the sports science programme to athletes within the Racing programmes.. Based at The Elms, Nottingham.

Team Physiotherapist - Jehan Yehia

Is responsible for providing physiotherapy support to athletes in the West Thames area. To act as Team Physiotherapist with the Flat Water Racing Senior Team


OTHER SUPPORT STAFF

Event Planning & Logistics Manager – Dave Enoch
Co-ordinates training & nominated competition logistics for the Racing Olympic Develolpment Programmes. Based in Nottingham.


 Logistics Assistant - Julie Betcher
Co-ordinates logistics for the Slalom Olympic Development Programmes. Based in Nottingham.

Minibus and Start Gate Technician - Mick Mazonowicz
Responsible for the maintenance of all minibuses and full responsibility for the construction and maintenance of the flat water racing start gate system
